The Abington Heights Jr High Softball team opened the season by defeating Tunkhannock 7-1. Briana Bustos tossed a 1 hitter and struck out 14 batters. Bridie O’Malley had 2 hits including a double, McKenna Wilmot had 2 key hits and had 4 RBI’s. Abigail Theony, Alaina Krempasky and Judy Riff had 1 hit each. Judy Riff smoked a big triple to knock in a run. The Lady Comets stole 6 bases in the game. The defense was led by catcher McKenna Wilmot and shortstop Bridie O’Malley.
